Carol's Story

Who am I; or who was I? I was the one who was quiet, even Mrs. Star, my sophomore English teacher told her classes that! I was the one who didn't hang out with many of the students in my class, it seems, for the most part. I had more friends in the classes ahead of me and the classes after me. I liked school for the friendships and I have fond memories. I had people who didn't like me no matter what I did and I never knew why. But, as they say, so many people like you, so many don't like you, and the rest really don't care one way or the other. That's life, so I'm okay with my friendships. It's strange, because after you get out of school people that you never associated with, because you didn't have classes with or whatever the reason, sometimes become your friends! I liked playing sports, attending sports and cheerleading. I would have played more sports, but didn't want to because it was the same coach for everything. I played basketball and I liked that. I really loved volleyball and wished I would have played. I was probably better playing it! Maybe!!! Who am I now? I'm a devoted mom. I am a Christian who tries to connect with people on those terms. I'm far from being good, but I try. I am busy doing my things here at home. I would like to go back to teaching after I finish homeschooling my son. I really like teaching. My son, David, is adopted and is a freshman in high school now (2010-2011) . He takes after my loves as his #1 love is basketball and he plays on a homeschool team. He has played many years of soccer and he is very good at soccer too! So I'm a basketball/soccer mom! He played all of the s...Expand for more
ports when he was younger, but these are his top two loves that he has stuck with. At one time his dream was to be a pro-basketball player!!! That's my son!!! I love animals. We have dogs and cats. My son, again like me, is busy with 4-H and shows swine and cattle. He has done several other 4-H projects, but he's stuck with the showing of livestock. We like to go bike riding. I love to ride around the county. We didn't do it like we usually do in the summer. Summer was busy and it just didn't happen. But, I have a 21 speed and love to ride. I wanted to do the ride Wayne County . And the one across the state was on a day when we and even the Indiana ride. But hey, I'm not in the shape I was in high school, anyone else like that My latest update...as I'm writing today 10-10-10, is that I've separated, moved back home (not to my liking), but that's the way it will be till the divorce is settled. Yes, I've been married 24 years, and I don't feel like discussing it in detail. I don't miss being with my husband, I'm moving on with my life, but feel somewhat lonely! I don't want a relationship right now, but companionship would be nice. I just want some time to be basically on my own, and have less stress from the joint relationship. My job is to get my son through his last four years of school, and with homeschooling that takes up all of my week. The high school takes more planning, keeping more records, etc. I figure this is my job and I am thinking about what I want to do when I grow up. LOL Hey, I want to hear from some of you other guys/gals. I laid it on the line...hey, wake up! I bored you...sorry! Carol
