Carol's Story
Life
It seemed to me, at the time, that graduating from high school was only ONE of the waystations of life. I continued to live at home while attending the U. W. I found true love, married a B.S with a promising future, and started a family before graduating. Fifteen years later I was single again and "finding my true self"...which I did as well as finding myself broke. I completed the Portland Museum School of Art degree program as a graphic designer. While spending a final summer at the Cannon Beach cabin I had owned with my husband, I met and married a local retailer and found my art career sidelined while I learned the ins and outs of running a seasonal business. However, living in an art community kept the painting flame alive and I actually was able to take part in a couple of exhibits.

to college, married, provided me with ten (10!) grandchildren and we all remain very close to this day. My husband passed away in 1998. Since we had sold our business and invested in enough income property to live off I defined myself as retired. The boredom set in after about a year. I discovered the internet and became acquainted with a very warm, friendly, funny psychologist living in Eugene who foster-parented five paranoid schizophrenics in his home. We have been married for about 10 years and I have acquired two very exceptional stepchildren one of whom is married & living in Salem, the other is committed to saving Guatemala. I am still painting still lifes, I study Greek, like to garden, flyfish, ski, surf the net, manage my income properties and I enjoy feeling useful in sharing the care of our 5 mentally ill residents.
