I was quite shy in school and was not very outgoing. I didn't really participate in many school activities, but I did play softball and tennis at home. I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up and just sort of went through the motions to get through school. After graduation, I went to work at Kings Department Store. I left there to work at Triton Glass in Buena. I was there for about 7.5 years before joining the Vineland Police Department. I was the first female municipal police officer in the county. I started as a foot patrolman and left after 10 years as a Detective/Juvenile Officer to work at the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office. My position as the Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator was a grant position, and I was laid off after about 3 years. I eventually went to work for the Division of Youth and Family Services and the Institutional Abuse Investigation Unit for a total of about 7 years.
