Carole's Story
I was born and raised in Lynwood, CA. I attended Washington Elementary School, Hosler Jr. High School and Lynwood High School, graduating in 1964. After high school, I attended Compton College for two years. I've lived in Honolulu, Hawaii; San Diego, CA; Ojai, CA; Ventura, CA; and Santa Maria, CA. I was employed with Southern California Gas Company for 24 years as a Customer Service Rep and Secretary to the District Manager. In 1987 I married Vic Abbott. In 1993 we moved to Silver Creek GA (about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta) to care for my elderly parents. Since 1994 I've worked at Georgia Highlands College in Rome GA. the way in Nov 2014. I love the outdoors, especially camping in the mountains with my husband and family. I also love the beach but unfortunately it's a five-six hour drive from where I live in Georgia. I enjoy long walks, short hikes, reading and baking. My favorite past-time is spending time with my grandchildren--being "Nana" to my sweet grandchildren is the highlight of my life. I'm conservative, listen to talk radio, and enjoy comedy. I enjoy people who have a good sense of humor and don't take themselves too seriously. I'm a sucker for stray animals and a real softie where my grandchildren are concerned. I'm a cancer survivor and believe in the power of a positive attitude and sincere prayer.
I'm looking forward to seeing my former classmates from LHS at the 50th reunion in August.
