Carole's Story
After graduating from LHHS, I worked for several years before going to college. Working full time and attending FJC and Fullerton State was a challenge but well worth it. I've been retired from teaching in the Santa Ana Unified School District for 36 years. During that time I got a masters degree in education; received a Golden Bell award for top PE program in the state; helped start AIDS Walk Orange County in 1987 and served on the Executive Board for many years as its secretary; had the PLO call me at school after the letters my students wrote to Chairman Arafat (asking him to help in the release of Terry Anderson and others) ...Expand for more
was received by their headquarters in New York (they were so moved by them that they were going to hand carry them to Chairman Arafat; and, had the United Nations call me at school. They got my name from the head of the health dept. for the state of New York and wanted 12 schools from the U.S. and Great Britain to help start a program to help 3rd World countries to fight AIDS. Now that I'm retired, I've been working on TV shows and movies as a background actor, taking cooking classes, active in my local and national koi associations (secretary to three koi groups), reading a lot, etc. I'm blessed with good health and great friends.
