Carole's Story
UPDATE: I retired in September 08 after 38 years with various Agencies of the Dept of Defense! I love being retired and now babysit my first grandchild (Brennan) while his Mommy and Daddy work! I feel like a really old "new" mom, and love it! I guess you can call me "Nanny Nana!" There is a reason why people have children much younger than in their 60s!! First-time Nanas, also usually come at a much younger age!
I've been in Georgia for 25 years (Aug 09) and have been an Industrial Specialist in the Manufacturing and Production arena for the Def Contract Mgt Agency -- a Combat Support Agency of the Dept of Defense -- since I got here. I was blessed in being able to retire at the top of my game. I currently live in Acworth, GA after living in Marietta for over 22 years. (Interesting note -- Acworth, GA was named after Acworth, NH!). My little subdivision is actually full of folks from MA -- Billerica, Boston, Newburyport, etc.

espite being here for 25 years, I still don't talk funny and am a diehard Georgia Bulldog fan (University of Georgia). I make sure we send our yearly allotment of graduate football players to the New England Patriots!
I'm happily unmarried and have two daughters who obviously graduated from "UGA." I did get to Dracut probably once or twice a year as my headquarters was in Boston. This year I went up to see my nephew play his last football game for Harvard against Yale! He's a Dracut HS graduate and will be graduating from Harvard this year. We are so proud! (Matt Thomas).
I can hardly believe that the same old family businesses are still up and running in Dracut -- it's so different here!
I miss New England, but I have to say the climate here is much more agreeable to us "Boomers!"
I'd love to hear from my old classmates! "Go Middies!!!" Keep in touch!
P.S. Cecilia is still in Dracut -- about 1.5 miles from the old homestead!
