Carolina's Story
Life
Hi, Everybody!
Well, 2009 has been an eventful year for me. My son and daughter-in-law presented me with my second grandchild, a beautiful boy (yeah, I'm prejudiced!). Since my Mom died before my 2 sons were born, I am trying to be the Grandmother that I know she would have been and never had the chance to be.
After 17 years as the office manager of a telecommunications consulting firm, the owners decided to gear down to retirement, including cutting my hours back. Long story short, I changed jobs 5 years ago and am now an administrative assistant with an accounting firm. Began partial retirement this year. Still working 2 days a week at the accounting firm and will have to work full-time during tax season, then back to the 2-day schedule.
What are my interests these days? Well,...Expand for more
during the summer, I still spend as much time as possible in Deltaville. My older son has a boat there, and between that and the cottage on the Bay, I spend every free minute I can on the water. I'm still a passionate reader, and I love music of all kinds, including singing in the church choir and karaoke.
I've been divorced since 1995, and have just spent 2009 getting to know and love a new man in my life. We share a home just outside of Farmville, VA, and I still have my home in Richmond to use while in town. We are really having a blast together, and this city girl has become a lover of country life!
Although I didn't have the pleasure of graduating from DSF (I moved my junior year), I still feel like Freeman is my alma mater. Would love to hear from any of you Rebels out there!
