Carolyn's Story

I am living in Salem OR and have been for the past 22 years. I work for the State of Oregon as an Accounting Tech II as the Cashier. I am looking forward to retiring within the next 6 years. I have a wonderful husband who makes me laugh, two wonderful boys, and two grandchildren - Bailey(8) and Alec(6) whom I adore, and three female cats. I have had an adventurous life to say the least and when I was young I traveled around the country a lot. That was back in the days when a single girl could stay by herself fairly safely in a KOA camp. I got my stuff together around 1985 and settled down and became the responsible person I am today. I have gone to Business school and taken many credits in accounting at a community college. I don't own a big fancy house or car or boat, and I'm not married to a doctor or lawyer or anyone with a ton of money - foolishly money never interested me. But I have a cute little two bedroom with a big yard with lots of fresh fruit. I am loving life in my fifties. Bill and I enjoy Nascar and he has a street car - an old 58 Ford truck name Nifty. It's fun to be married to someone...Expand for more
who has interests that I can share. I love that! Anyway - I would love to hear from old school mates. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and add on a 12 foot section to the back of the house. My dream home would be 3-4 bedroom ranch house on a couple of acres,in Lowman. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to my churc h, then spend the rest on helping others, taking care of the people I love and some new stuff for us. My best friend would tell you I'm goofy and fun, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as serious. I share my home with my husband and our three cats, which I find terrific - most of the time.. One of the most vivid happy childhood memories I have was going camping at Lowman with my family and my dad and I would go fishing at o'dark thirty in three layers of clothes because it would be cold in the morning and warm up gradually. We would peal off a layer at a time until there was only one left. Sometimes I would read instead of fish. When it rained we would stay in the cabin and read and listen to the rain on the tin roof. It was awesome!
