Hey to anyone who visits! I am leaving my story because I feel that it is important for everyone to be aware and since it is Breast Cancer awareness month I thought that it would be appropriate. Last year the Sunday after Thanksgiving I found a lump in my left breast. I have a long family history with breast cancer so I wasn't really surprised but I was freaked out. Instead of ignoring it I went into business mode. I made an appointment the next day to see the doctor and when he brushed it off I didn't ignore the feeling that I had in my gut. I went back two weeks later and insisted on a mammogram and that is when they found the tumor. Three surgeries, 8 rounds of chemo and 33 radiation treatments, I am cancer free and intend to stay that way. It is important that people trust themselves and don't put their heads in the sand when something happens. Knowing only gives you the power to do something about it, not knowing will only kill you.
