Carolyn Peadon:

CLASS OF 1963
Dallas, TX

Carolyn's Story

In my senior year at UTA, I met my my husband, Gordon during a Student Government debate. After graduating, I taught for a few years; then in 1972, I had an opportunity to study in Germany to become more fluent. That worked out great, because in 1980, Gordon had an opportunity to head up Texas Instruments' European Communications Network. Since neither of us spoke French well, we opted to live in Germany. While there, we met some truly great people and have maintained those friendships. After two years of grabbing every opportunity to travel in France, Italy, England, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Scotland (where Gordon enjoyed meeting fellow bagpipers), we returned to the US. I opted for a career change and went into Data Processing. As ...Expand for more
an IT manager for American Airlines, I had a chance to continue traveling as part of my job. Gordon and I have been blessed by having the opportunity to make return visits to Europe and have also seen much of Eastern Europe, Japan, Thailand, India, and other parts of the world. What a thrill and a wonderful adventure for a girl from Pleasant Grove whom everyone thought was just a bookworm. I have now retired from AA/Sabre and enjoy all the hobbies I had to postpone when I worked 80 hour weeks. I love to garden, sew, knit, do needlework, read, and do all those things you never have time to do when you work. We bought an RV and spent three months touring Alaska and Canada. Unfortunately, current diesel prices are limiting our travel a bit.
