Carolyn's Story
Life
Shortly after graduation, I married my geology instructor at OCU, David Vosburg. We spent our first summer in Norman where he continued to work on his doctorate. We moved to Rhode Island in late August where he taught at the University of Rhode Island and I started on a Master's in education. While in R.I., both of our children were born, Kathy and Brad.
In August of 1965 we moved to Enid, OK, David's hometown, where he taught at his alma mater, Phillips University. I took more graduate level education courses. We were only there one year.
In August of 1966 we again moved! This time, it was so David could take a faculty position in geology at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. We were there thirty (30) years! It was a great town in which to raise kids, but doesn't have much else goi...Expand for more
ng for it, sad to say.
David retired in 1995 and we moved to Nassau Bay, TX (home of NASA) so that I could work in a family business with our daughter. We now (2004) live about 2 miles from her and her family and the Northwest side of Houston and I'm retired, too! We travel quite a bit, mostly to Nashville to see our son, Brad, and family, and to Hannibal, MO to see my elderly parents.
Life is good, all things considered. : )
UPDATE: David died on 10/30/2020 from congestive heart failure. The house is way too quiet without him! I've been having some physical challenges myself since his passing. But, I try to stay active and enjoy my faith friendships and involvement in DAR. Kathy has encouraged me just lately to get a passport and begin seeing the world! We shall see if and how that pans out!
