Carrie's Story
Life
Currently I am a part time stay at home mom with two children - Grace, 7 and Gerry, 11. Before staying home with my children, I was a production manager in the publishing industry for 10 years. I do alot of volunteer work with my church, the grade school that my children attend and at the pool club that we belong to. I am employed part time in prepared food prep at Wegmans ( a gourmet grocery store).
I met my husband in the Washington DC area the summer after I graduated from IUP. We lived in the DC area until 13 years ago when he was transferred to southern New Jersey. We really love it here. Haddonfield is a small town where everyone knows everyone. We are approximately 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia and about 1 1/2 hours from the Jersey shore.
I hope to go to culinary school when my youngest goes to second grade in the fall of 08. Cooking is one of my many passions. I am an avid walker and bicycle rider. I love to garden and do home renovation. My husband and I own a 110 year old Victorian home that always needs somethi...Expand for more
ng done to it. My children also keep me busy. My children are competitive swimmers in the middle atlantic division of USA swimming along with a summer league that includes 36 local teams. My son also plays viola, trumpet, and loves computers Karate and running. My daughter has just started to swim competitively. Her favorite sport is Karate. She is very determined to be exactly like her brother.
My greatest challenge in life has been to overcome colon cancer in 2005/2006. I am a two year survivor. I was very lucky that my cancer was found at a very early and treatable stage. I could not have survived without my husband, who in the past has traveled a great deal for work and suddenly found himself as not only an employee (He works for EDS Corporation) but Mr. Mom. His life changed in an instant and he adjusted very well and ran the show with a great deal of grace. My sisters and sister in law took turns helping us out, We are very lucky to have a supportive family.
If anyone is ever in the area, e-mail me in advance. We love company.
