Carrie's Story

Life After School I stayed in Idaho for awhile and then had to get out, so I moved to Colorado back in 1992. I lived there until 1999 and then the military took us to Ft. Hood, TX for the next 3 years and then to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii where we got to enjoy living for 10 months and then had to come back to the mainland and back to Colorado. I have 4 beautiful children and have decided to be a stay at home mother. Now I am dealing with a couple of teenagers who are extremely differant on how they act and friends they have. So needless to say, because of one of my teenagers I now have a profile on VampireFreaks.com so if you are really curious about me then you can find my profile on there. Screen name Flacita719. I have to be nosey and see what is going on because if you have a teenager you know that when they hit a certain age, they quit talking to you and sometimes you become their worst enemy. But I am lucky, they don't hate me yet and we have a decent communication line but there are still some things they don't want you to know. Remember what that was like? School I would say in school at that age my biggest crush would have been on Jeff Cammack. I know I was stupid. But he was my first love when I was a teenager. My favorite teacher would have to be Mrs. Pulling in Art and Mrs. Evans for Psych and sociology. No I would not do High School all over again, especially at Marsh Valley. I feel that there was just way to much prejudism there and mistreatment. I don't think a lot of the people I went to school with realize just how rude and mean they were and how much better they thought they were then everyone else. Hated it. They made my High School experience suck. If it weren't for a lot of those individuals I would have enjoyed it. As for the Principle (Mr. Jolley) who figured if you were not of the Mormon religion and did not attend church or you were not a jock of some sort. I really hope he burns in hell. His mentality was to tell a lot of us that we might as well drop out because we would never make it anyway. Nice way to deal with children, be a jerk and I feel for those who still have to deal with him. Because of those Individuals, I have no good memories of my High School years. Thanks My only memories come from the few good friends I spent time with after school. That is how life was growing up in that area at that time. I really hope a lot of you have changed and don't treat anyone like that anymore. I really hope you have grown up. College Idaho State University Vocational School for Cosmetology. The only thing good about that was that I don't have to pay a fortune to do my childrens hair and I can do it myself. Then, Pikes Pea...Expand for more
k Community College for an Associates in the Legal Profession as a Paralegal which was a total waste of time, couldn't get a job doing that. Could have if I could have wasted 2 more years working for free to get extra experience. But I was a single mother of 2 at the time and needed to make money. At least I know a lot about the law now. I would love just being a full-time student if it didn't cost so much because I would love to go into Criminology just so that I could have another degree that would do me absolutely no good. I would like to become a Criminal Psychologist. That is my goal, so when my husband is done with his schooling and my youngest two are a little older that is what I am going to do. (Or at least try) Workplace First I went to school to become a Cosmetologist and I did that for a few years and then moved to Colorado and could not get work doing that because of the clientale thing, I had none because I had just moved there. So I went to school to become a Paralegal. Then I got a job totally differant then what I went to school for because there are so many paralegals out there that there was not enough work. So, I worked for a Japanese company called Yamato Corporation and they made scales, all sorts of scales. I started off as a receptionist and then got promoted to Asst. Manager over the clerical staff and then got another promotion to Customer Service for the Sales Department. It was an Interesting job. But ended up having to quit the job after a couple of years and then worked for AAA for awhile then moved to Texas and became a stay at home mom. Military I myself was not in the Military but my husband spent almost 8 years in the Army and was retired as a Sgt because of Asthma. I didn't mind the military life so much, at least I got to meet some really interesting and wonderful people and go to a couple of places. Hated Texas and we were stationed there for 3 years. But I made a couple of really good friends there. Our next duty station was in Hawaii which I loved but that was when they decided to retire my husband so 10 months was all I got to enjoy. But it was a great 10 months. Being a military wife is difficult, but I think it makes you a lot stronger of a person because your spouse cannot always be there and you have to learn to deal with situations that come up without knowing or being able to get a hold of your spouse. And believe me, things in the military are run a lot differant then in the civilian world. After we came back to Colorado, the adjustment from military life to civilian life was difficult. I wouldn't have changed things though. I had fun meeting new people and going new places and I know my husband enjoyed it.
