Carrie's Story
Life
I have been married for 19 years and we have three children. In December 2010 I had a right temporal cranium brain biopsy. As a result of this biopsy they diagnosed me with NeuroSarcoidosis. To make a long story short it is an inflammatory disease. It causes your immune system to stay active and fight against your own cells in my case my nerves in my eyes and brain. I am on high doses of prednisone and other anti-inflammatory drugs to keep the disease quiet. After all that...Expand for more
I have been through in the last two and half years I am doing quite well. The docs are impressed with my recovery and how well I am doing. I feel that I am blessed and cherish each moment not only with my children, but also friends and family.. We just go day by day now and every day I make sure that I communicate with my kids and give them a squeeze before they leave off for school. I look a lot different now because of the meds, but over all my kids say I am still in there mom.
