Carrol's Story
I was born in California and lived there till I was 10 when my mother and stepfather moved me and five siblings to Georgia. My family moved to Harris County from Columbus in the summer of 1974 when I was 15.
I went to Middleton Street Elementary School in Huntington Park, Calif.. We moved to Ga. when I was going into 6th grade so I went to Waverly Terrace in Columbus, Ga. and then to Columbus Jr. High. I had attended Jordan High School my first 2 years of high school but we had a fire at the end of my sophomore year so that's why we made the move. I didn't have many friends.
I married Roy Cortez in Sept. 1985 and we have three beautiful daughters--Heather, Diana, Victoria. I have been a stay-at-home...Expand for more

I was a loner in high school and only had a couple of friends I hung out with. I avoided people and in some ways still do. I have a condition called Tourette Syndrome but didn't know what it was when I was in school so everyone probably thought I was a freak or something. Many people laughed at me because of it so I was in a shell and couldn't come out. Finally found out what it was when I was 20.
I have lived in Harris County ever since 1974. I would like a change of scenery but maybe not now. Our two oldest daughters graduated from Harris County High and I have one more on the way to that day. We will be a family of Harris County High School graduates.
