Cassie's Story
Life
Life has certainly been an adventure since high school! I have been married for 16 years now, have 4 children (one who is already in heaven), and am starting to get the gray hair that comes with them! My husband (Stephen) and I have been in full-time ministry for 13 years. Stephen pastored 2 different churches, and is now an associate pastor at a church in the Austin area. We have been here since October of 2001. I was "mommy" and pastor's wife until August of 2004. Now I am also the church and school secretary, so life is busy, to say the least! My oldest child Allison, is 14 years old. Taylor, our middle son (he was a twin and his sister died after birth), is 9 years old, and Jordan (the surprise! and icing on the cake), our youngest son, is 7 years old. Life has definitely not always been easy, but I can always say that God has been good and has protected us and provided for us! We have been blessed more than we could ever deserve!
In June of 2004 I began Weight Watchers, after letting laziness and "baby fat...Expand for more
" accumulate over the years. I reached my goal in September of 2005, and lost a total of 90 lbs! I didn't realize how much I had gained over the years until I began losing. I now feel a 1000 times better and look like the old me! I recently starting leading a meeting for Weight Watchers one night a week. I figured that that would be the best way to keep me accountable and sticking with it! It works... I'm living proof!
The journey since high school and college has definitely not been easy, but I can say that God has always been good. I would be nothing without the Lord in my life, and certainly would not have survived the hardships and "bumps" in life without Him! I am happy to say that all my children have come to know the Lord too! (whew!) I feel blessed in so many ways.
My only regret in life is losing touch with all those people who were such a big part of my life in those "growing" years of high school and college. Through this site I have reconnected with some of them, and look forward to finding many more!!!
