One of Cassie's favorite quotes is:"Our Deepest Fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is we are powerful beyound measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves "Who am i to be Brilliant, Gorgeous, Talented and fabulous" Who are we Not to be? You are a child of the universe. Your playing small does not serve the the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking So that other people wont feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest The Glory of the Universe that is within us. As we let our own light shine We unconsciously give other the permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, Our presence automatically liberates others. Nelson Mandella All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school. These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. ittle seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we. And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living. Take any one of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm. Think what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had as a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together. by Robert Fulghum". More about Cassie:"My lifes journey has taken roads I could never have anticipated...some quite disastrous I might add...but I have found that keeping your sense of humor..makes even traveling the rough roads a more rewarding journey:) I'm a single mother working and raising my children. I live on a small farm nestle amongst a small forest, I enjoy the peace and quite it offers me. Sometimes the work isn't a lot of fun but the rewards are priceless. I graduated from the University of Washington back in the early 90's I was a slow bloomer--better late then never. My children are truly the best thing in my life and although it too is a lot of work--it's the best---hardest job I've ever had. I enjoy concerts and all kinds of music, searching for treasures with my cousin and best bud Robin--we've had many adventures seeking out opals, sapphires and other precious gems. I volunteer on the Kitsap County Fair Board as the Livestock Director--work with my kids and a variety projects--mostly raising sheep. I Support my kids in their activities--soccer, baseball, football, basketball and 4-H. Life is busy and sometimes difficult but the beauty of each day is a reward that I am grateful to have-- I feel that it is our purpose to give of our selves, live in the moment and adapt to whatever comes our way--"its not the cards we are dealt but how we play the hand" that reflects our character!".
