Cassie's Story
Well, alright then, I was the little girl who would rather play ball with the boys then play dolls with the other girls. I remember that Kenny and I used to draw cartoon characters. I really liked art, but did not like it when old lady Dr. McDevitt took the brush out of my hand and painted on my painting.
I was the lady reporter in the sixth grade play about the moon launch. Remember, that was in 1957. By then, my sister, Ivy was in the fifth grade and we already had four little brothers.
After sixth grade, we moved into the old Rickey School house on Macleay Road, but I still went to Leslie for seventh grade. The next summer they moved the line and eighth and ninth grade were at Parrish. Then on to North. By 1960, we...Expand for more
had two more little brothers.
I went to OCE and math was my major freshman year. Then I switched to art education, because I just knew I could do a better job than Old Lady McDevitt.
So, I spent from 1968 to 1999 teaching art at Newberg High School. And filling in with some math from time to time.
Gary and I were married in 1975. We have two sons, Marc and Wally. In 2000 we moved to Sweet Home to enjoy our retirement. Marc followed us here and now has three children.
Wally lives and works in Portland. He writes, directs and produces video for the Famous Mysterious Actor Show. He has hooked up with Miss Mona Superhero, duct tape artist.
So there you have it. The life and times of Cassie Fay Partridge Fessler.
