Beverly's Story
My only goal in life at this point is to Love deeply and live life to the fullest possible.
My oldest son followed in his step-father's footsteps and became a fireman/paramedic and his first day of work was that fateful day of Sept.11 th.
I had two fireman on duty for 48 hours not knowing what would happen to our country after the 9-11 attacks on the Trade Center started everything that is different with our world. The war started and I watched my wonderful Nephew Steven go over to Iraq with the Marines on his 19th birthday. That had to be one of the scariest times of my life as I always thought of Steven almost like another son of mine with him and my oldest only 9 months apart they spent alot of their childhood together growing up. the day he came home safe and sound was one of the happiest times of my life. He now has a wife and a 2 year old daughter. one of my Best friends lost her son in Iraq shortly after that. He had a wife and 3 young kids at home. it was so very sad.
My youngest son and I had a accident about 6 years ago a drunk driver hit our car and broke my back in 3 places. My son luckily was unhurt in our car but witnessed the whole thing. I did a really stupid thing after being rear-ended by this drunk driver I got out of my car to look at the damages in the middle of the road/ the driver tried to flee the scene and hit me breaking my back. I was one of the lucky ones and after surgury and years of work I can pretty much walk most days without people knowing I had anything wrong with me. when I am tired though I have trouble still and I guess always will.
the scariest part is that it was noon, not 2 or 3 am that this guy changed my life and he was over 3 times the legal limit on hard booze. God was watching over us that day though I firmly believe because my car blocked this man's path from mowing over 3 school kids trying to cross the street. so if he hadn't hit me and my car shortly before he would have run over these three young lives. to that I am the most grateful that...Expand for more
they are living today hopefully to the fullest.
*** I live for my kids and my family, I have a grandson was born July 2, 2007 he is so much fun and so loving. he looks just like my oldest (his daddy) did when he was little so it's like having my son all over again but more fun if that is possible.
My youngest son Jon is into racing sprint go karts, they have speeds from 70-over 100 mph on some of the tracks like Sear's point, Thunder Hill.
He has won 4 championships and picked up his 5th in his 5 years of racing, he won 3 of them in one year. this year he also placed 2nd place in another championship and 4th in a 3rd race series that he is involved in. Jon travels from Ore.- nev. calif. with his racing adventure. I only wish I knew about stuff like this when I was young since I was a little speed demon in my 1968 Camaro, it might not have looked like much with it's grey primer paint but boy was it fast. I have the big block motor out of that car in my garage and my son wants to build his own car and put it in there......mom is holding that one back because I already see the speed demon in my son and at least he keeps it on the race track. He is testing for f200 cars in Nov. so I am not sure where all of this will go but he has been on the honor roll for over 5 years so mom wants him to continue his Education after he graduates in June 09,
**I dive, it is amazing to see all the wildlife underwater. It is truely amazing to go under water and I take pictures above water as well as below the surface. I have been down to 100 feet and have some great pictures of my trips to Mexico, Hawaii, and the Caribbean oceans. someday I would like to dive in the south pacific and go to Austria's great Barrierr reef.
I am a working travel agent so I get to see lots of new things in my line of work that keeps my eyes wide open with wonder and joy.my husband died of occupational cancers after 30 year's of fire service. We were married for 30 year's. It is a struggle moving forward alone after all these years.
