Catherine's Story
Life
After leaving Barstow I married a Navy man, had 3 kids and moved around a lot for a few years. For 27 years we lived in Florida and the two years ago moved to Alabama on a whim. I went back to school in my 40s and got my degree at University
We have 3 boys. all are married and we now have six grandchildren, a boy named for his grandfather, who they call Moe and two granddaughters Samantha and Cameron. We also have three bonus granddaughters. One son and his family are in Opelia, Alabama, where he is a professor at Auburn University. Our oldest son and his wife life in Memphis, Tn. They are both archiologists, Danielle, out daughter-in-law, is one of the curators at the Elvis Presley Museum at Graceland. Our youngest son is in the restaurant business...Expand for more
also in Alabama and we have located midway between the two Alabama boys.
We have a French Bulldog, Sophie, the daughter we never had. We've always had lots of pets, dogs, cats, etc. I still read everything i can get my hands on, I like to sew, quilt and scrapbook.
I worked for many years as a docent at the Jacksonville zoo but since moving to Alabama I haven't found a fit for volunteer activity. I do babysit when someone is sick and can't go to school. Most of my time is spent with gardening and working with the farmers market. We have eight acres here and I am seriously considering getting some mini donkeys or maybe goats.
