LIFE GRADUATED high school and no idea what to do. I went off to PCC to take a few classes. But there's ink in my genetic code so I worked on the college newspaper in a couple of different editorial positions and wrote for them also. Explored my love of photography by learning how to do the basics. Also worked a lot of jobs to support myself. At one point, I was working one full time job and two part time jobs while going to school. Whew!!! Not much time for anything else. One of my fellow editors at PCC was going on to Stanford to get a degree in anthropology. Intrigued, I went to the La Brea Tar Pits on her recommendation. There was a sign in the Paleo Lab window "Volunteers Needed". I signed up and began working in the Paleo Lab (aka "the fishbowl") and in the actual tar pits. Found out I really liked paleontology and anthropology. Learned a lot and met a lot of interesting people. I collected fossils in the Mojave Desert and from other sites around SoCal for a L.A. museum. And I also learned about Molly Malones on third and something ( a little age showing here-it could be sixth and something) in L.A. Met my husband, a geologist, doing all this. We have two boys.
