Catherine's Story

Life I'm an accountant in the Reno area. I started my career later in life when I went back to school in 1995. I got my BA in 2003 and my Masters in 2006. I'm enjoying my new career so I'm no where never ready to retire. I have the luck to be married to a wonderful man since 1995, I have raised 7 children, acquired 3 step children, with 14 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. In June of 2006 my oldest daughter had twins, giving me my first natural grandchildren to enjoy. You can see the prode Nana with Zander in the Now picture. The love of my life is named Don, and we share our home with 4 cats and 1 dog that thinks he is a cat. My husband's children and grandchildren are spread over the Western United States, but mine live near by. Don and I enjoy family events and welcome newcomers, but bring your ear plugs because we are a loud group. My husband also loves classic vehicles, and we have been involved in Hot August Nights (An event here in the Reno/Sparks area). Currently he is working on restoring a '49 Studebaker pick-up. ave much time to be active in hobbies outside of gardening, sewing and crafts, but with my graduation in December of 2006, I now find myself with free time. Over the past 5 years I have developed back problems, so I try to be careful with my physical activities, which gives me an excuse not to try sky diving. It has slowed me down some but it has not stopped me yet. My sagging face, eyesight and hair color are showing the signs of age, but I suppose that there are only a few of us who have escaped that issue. In 2008 I qualified to teach Accounting courses to business majors at the University of Phoenix. The jury is out as to if I like it or not, but something can be said about getting paid for talking about a subject that you like even if it is nerdest. I'm still on the shy side with people that I don't know very well but I do enjoy the options of re-kindling old friendships and exploring new ones. The internet is a great medium for that. It helps me to be a bit more bolder. I'm interested in hearing about your life or just the a days happenings, so drop me a line.
