Catherine Heinkel's Story
I was studying airline hostess training and ground reservation training while I was still in South Side High. After graduation I went to Kansas City, Missouri to complete the training and graduated then went on to Corpus Christi, Texas. Life goes on and now I have been living outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico for over 25 years. I have a loving husband and three grown children, one daughter and two sons, and two granddaughters. I have a deep faith in my Catholic religion. I enjoy having a good time with our friends, eating and playing games. And family night is simply the best with the kids. My husband is recently retired from long hard years at Intel Corp. So we are starting a new chapter in our lives as we settle into spending lots more time together and sharing our long awaited alone time since the last of the Mohicans just left ...Expand for more
the house and left us an empty nest. As for my time, I have been volunteering for local charities as long as I can remember (since I was a teenager). So I do a lot of unpaid work but the way I look at it, the retirement plan for charity is out of this world when judgement day comes. In South Side I used to hang around with Jessie Eicher and Darlene Jacobs all the time. We are still very close friends to this day and I cherish that friendship. I mostly kept to myself in school. My favorite class was Choir. I loved to sing and now sing in my local church choir every Saturday evening. I also sing in funerals. I hope to hear from some of you who may remember me. I may not be as shy as I once was but still have that part inside of me that doesn't want to interfere. But I would definitely welcome a hello and how do you do note from anyone.
