Cathleen's Story
I've been married for nearly 22 years to Geoffrey, who is British, and we've been living in the UK since that time. For many years I worked in International PR and Marketing and travelled a great deal. Although I really enjoyed the lifestyle, I gave up to look after the children. However, I still work four days a week running a not - for - profit organisation for one of the UK's most famous philanthropists. I work from home with my two cats on my desk and only venture into London once a week. It keeps me busy and it's interesting work. My daughter Caitlin is 19 and has just gone up to Cambridge University in September. My son Christopher, who is 12, loves music and is one of Queen Elizabeth's choristers. our house, just a little ways down the Thames. The children are happy and enjoy school. As long as they are happy, so are Geoffrey and I! We do come back to the US about twice a year now to visit friends and family. ( When my parents were alive I visited more often) I was last in North Babylon in January 2008 and I drove Chris around some of the old haunts -- Belmont School, Belmont Park, etc. Not much has changed! I love living in England, there is so much history all around us and I still feel as if I've jumped back in time quite often. We have good friends but no family over here at all, which is a bit sad. There is also no one who knew me long ago. It's nice to go back to NY and re-connect again. I would love to hear from some of my old friends and would welcome your visit!
