Hello to anyone who reads this!
I moved to the Denver, Colorado area in 1978 and have remained here. I do travel back to Emerson at least two times a year, as my parents and Grandmother still live there.
I met a "west-coast boy" here in Denver and we married in 1985. We have two girls, Jessi 16 and Sara, who is almost 10.
My husband, Matt, is a police officer. He began a job search about 6 months ago hoping to land us in SW Iowa and low and behold he was hired by Denver Police Department. me to move. He is very excited and I am too, although a little sad that I can't return to live in Iowa near family and friends.
I work part-time in a pharmacy and really enjoy it, especially the part-time thing. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May of 2000 and have had to face my own mortality. I had surgery and treatments that year and things were going fine. The cancer was found to have recurred in February of 2004, so I had more treatments and have been given the all clear again. I have learned to live at a slower pace, live one day at a time and never take anyone or anything for granted.
