Cathy's Story
Life
My name was Cathy Grougan when I graduated from Garden City East in 1982. I then went to Schoolcraft College and earned an Associates Degree in Legal Secretarial with honors in 1984. I went to work full-time as a secretary with Valassis coupon inserts in Livonia until 1985. Then I got a job as an executive secretary with the government, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). I also got married to Garden City High student Ken Gorski in September 1986. I worked at the FAA for five years, then I quit to be a stay-at-home mom. We have three sons, David (born 1990), Kenny (born 1992), Jonathan (born 1995). We relocated to a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio in 1991, due...Expand for more
to Ken getting a job at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. We really enjoy Cleveland--for Ohio folks they are pretty nice! We are homeschooling our children. They are thriving on biblical values. They also have test scores that blow away their peers at the local public & private schools. That's icing on the cake. I have been involved with many charitable organizations: Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) as Publicity Team Leader, the local Right to Live group as Secretary & Treasurer, involved in local government issues, and now I am doing the local homeschool newsletter for the whole county. Never a dull moment when you have three boys! We are truly blessed as a family.
