Cathy's Story
After completing my intership with the US Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, I graduated from the University of Northern CO in May 97 with a BA in Kinesiology. After graduation I worked full-time for the Colorado Army National Guard until my unit was deployed to Bosnia in support of Operation Joint Forge in August 1999. I returned to Denver in April 2000. nal Guard since graduation from PHS. In December 2000, I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserves. I deployed to Iraq in 2004 as a Convoy Commander for a 12 month combat tour. I went back to Iraq from 2005 to 2007 as a US Army Contractor. After my promotion to Captain, I became the acting Commander of an Army Reserve transportation unit located in Daytona Beach. In January 2008, I started my life long dream of becoming a pilot through the Commercial Airline Pilot Training (CAPT) program located in Palm Coast, Florida.
