Cathy Kovach:

CLASS OF 1987
Aurora, IL

Cathy's Story

Life After high school, I attended Illinois State University with the hopes of attaining a Music Degree in Violin. During my Junior year, I had to have surgery on my right wrist, which is my "bow" arm. After complications, it was apparant that I would not be able to play professionally. I decided to come home and re-assess what I wanted to be when I grew up. I married my husband David in 1991. We currently own a house in Kaneville, just northwest of Aurora. We have three wonderful boys: Alec, Jarod, and Levi. I am an Administrative Assitant/Teacher for the local Childcare Center...Expand for more
and Admin. Assitant for a friend's electrical business as well as for the Kaneville Fire Department. I have also obtained my EMT-B license and am a member of the KFPD. I also teach violin and viola out of my home as well as singing for weddings and funerals in our church. Having these part-time jobs allows me the opportunity to be very active in my children's schools including helping out in the classrooms weekly, and attending ALL field trips. My children are all very musical as well, so even though I may not be playing professionally as planned, my life is filled beautiful music!
