Cayce's Story
Life
Hey Class of '79, it's now been over 25 years since we graduated. I have been married to my husband, Rick, for 23 years. We have two girls, Lindsey age 21, and Ashley age 14. We lived in Gilbert for 15 1/2 years and moved to lovely Las Vegas, Nevada in August of 2002. It was a tough adjustment after growing up and living in Arizona since 1970. I miss my family. My brothers, David and Terry, their families, and my Mom and Dad are all still in Scottsdale and Phoenix area. Vegas has really grown on us though. The area we live in is beautiful and right near the foothills of the mountains. My husband is a landscape contractor working mainly on large resort, golf course and custom residential landscape.
I've been lucky to be a stay home mom for many years. I do a great deal of volunteer work for my daughters schools, girl scouts, church, our HOA and anywhere else in the community I'm needed. I'd rather be doing volunteer work than housework!
Our eldest daughter, Lindsey is a student at UNLV majoring in eduction. She graduated from Gilbert High School in 2002 and attended NAU, but decided to move ...Expand for more
up here to be closer to us.
Ashley is going to be a 9th grader at a private Lutheran school. She loves to dance, play the cello and do teenager things (IM, shop, dance).
We had a cat named Buster who passed away last year. We miss him very much! We have a cockapoo named Skippy who is 8 years old. He is a wild man, but Ashley has him very well trained. We recently added another cockapoo to the household. Her name is Daisy, but she is like a mini tasmanian devil. She's got a lot of energy and keeps us really busy.
Our main hobby is travel. We love to travel! When we've got an extra nickel to our names we spend it on travel! In 2004 we went on an Alaska cruise, spent some time at the beach in California and went to Disneyworld for a week in October. Plus we go back to Az for every major holiday, so we are always on the move. We took another Alaskan cruise in May this year with my family including relatives from Florida, Deleware and New York. We are looking forward to a Disney cruise in September. Gotta keep moving!
That's it for the Newton family. I hope to hear from some of my classmates.
