Cecil's Story
I spent ten years in law enforcement with the El Paso Police Dept, TX Dept of Public Safety and Midland Police Dept in the field of Communications/dispatch. I used to spend all my free time with my folks who had retired and moved to our home town of Valentine, a small country town 150 miles east of El Paso. I visited the Palm Springs, CA area on a vacation one time and was offered a job and moved here, where I've been since 1986. I currently manage a very large private residence/estate for a very nice family. The winters here are great - high 70's, low 80's, but the summers can be miserable up to 125 degrees. Fortunately, my employers are here only in the winter so I have a lot of free time for 4 or 5 months in the summer so I try to do a lot of traveling - trips to Vegas, San Diego and L.A., but especially to Hawai'i which is truly paradise. My Mom passed away back in 1988 and my Dad in 2006. I had moved him out here to California 3 years before he died and we had such a great time together; we had always been close and he was always my best friend so his passing has been tough.

m's passing, my brothers and sisters and Dad and I made it a point to do a family cruise every other year. I would recommend this to any family - great way to get together without getting on one another's nerves (-:.
I don't think my personality has changed much since school - I'm still very outgoing, friendly and talkative, and yes, still the guy who has all the answers. Everyone will tell you that I talk to everyone - that I don't know a stranger, and try to be friendly always.
I believe in giving a dollar to the beggar on the street, without wondering if he's going to spend it on liquor or not, or giving him a lecture. Unconditional is unconditional. You never know when it may be an angel in disguise testing us. And I believe it is good karma.
The most important thing I learned from my parents - in life and death - is that your life is precious and you have to live it to the fullest every day because it could be over tomorrow.
UPDATE: I am now in San Antonio, since 2017, as a personal assistant. When this job ends, I will move to my home on the Big Island of Hawai'i, which I bought in 2017.
