Cecile's Story

Funny how I seem to update around the same time each time. Some changes...Evalina has had her job for just over a year! She's working at a local hotel. Louis is still looking for work. He has gotten involved with several "Meet Up" groups for Board, card, & dice games and 'drags' me along to play some of the time. Actually, we've been having lots of fun!
We all volunteered at Comic-Con this year but Louis volunteered at Gam3erCon too! He was a very busy man! This year, the San Diego Blood Bank gathered nearly 1500 units of blood! Louis, Evalina & I continue as before, working at the Booth in the Sails Pavilion in the Convention Center & on the sales floor gathering donations from the vendors for daily drawings. Exhausting but fun!
I just passed my 10th year anniversary with Michaels. Still teaching Jewelry Making at 2 stores. Also teach jewelry making in an after school program in elementary schools and crafts in general at a senior center twice a month. I'm working on other opportunities.
Lou (husband) has been working for Rohr>Goodrich>United Technologies for 39 years! He's stllhanging in despite many changes in management.

Well, we survived another Comic-Con! Something that the media doesn't cover...1197 units of blood were accepted for use in San Diego Co. by the Blood Bank from Comic-Con attendees! That's what my kids & I, with the assistance of some friends do during Comic-Con. (making appointments, giving directions, gathering prizes & organizing a drawing for blood donors) All our donors- blood & otherwise, are very generous. Now it's back to the everyday- work, teaching, etc.
Still more life

My daughter now attends Grossmont College& goes to Encinitas (I think) to see live & on film "Rocky Horror Picture Show". My son is still looking for work but keeps busy with his computer, various media sources, & Dungeons & Dragons. Husband is still working at Goodrich Aero Structures. I still work at Michaels but my semi-manageri...Expand for more
al position was eliminated so I'm basically doing the same job for less money! During the school year, I teach jewelry making thru an after school program. I also teach jewelry & other crafts at home & at Temple Emanu-El.
Once again we're getting ready for Comic-Con where the kids help me run the Blood Drive booth- making appointments, answering questions, collecting donations & holding drawings for blood donors.

More life!
My Daughter Graduated from Helix H.S. in La Mesa late yesterday afternoon! It was a drizzly, overcast day but she just shone thru! We are so proud!!!
Some other things have changed...We've moved to a different house, only have 1 cat left, the antique store went out of business, I am the Event Coordinator for my Michaels but all my classes were eliminated & my hours were cut! In this house I will be able to teach in my new ART STUDIO!!!!! Out of bad comes some good- I hope!
Volunteer work remains the same. Now My Husband, Lou, is also a Staff Assistant for Comic-Con & our kids & friends are our staff. We run the Blood Drive Booth in the Sails Pavillion at the S.D. Convention Center July 24-27.
Louis is 24 going on 16- very much a work in progress. Lou is doing o.k. His job still exists. And Evalina will be attending Grossmont College next semester- aiming for Veterinary school.
Life
6/15/05 I have a 21 year old son, Louis. My daughter will turn 16 on 6/19. I'm still married to Lou Fleetwood.
I work at Michaels & teach classes in basic jewelry making there. I also help out at some friends' antique store several times a month.
I do a lot of volunteer work at our Temple (Temple Emanu-El). I am the volunteer librarian there as well. My whole family volunteers at Comic-Con. (July 14-17) This year I was "promoted" to Staff Assistant in charge(?) with another volunteer, of the Blood Drive. It's fun but lots of work!
I love my kids, our 4(!) cats, & especially my husband and I'm really glad I never have to be a teenager again!!!
