Chanelle's Story
Life
I hope you have had a pleasant journey thus far, achieving goals and finding love and happinessÂ
In 2002, I met my wonderful partner, Ken, through my neighbors and unexpectedly fell in love. (I had vowed never to do that again!) Ken and I had our son, Colby, in 2003, sold both of our houses, (He had bought one right around the corner from mine just after we began dating), and bought a new one last year a couple of miles down the road. I have been working from home part-time since 2004 as a Notary Public Signing Agent and Residential Real Estate Appraiser, but am about to return to teaching full-time. Now, I will be teaching full-time, and slowly work on completing another CD while I raise three wonderful, gifted boys with Ken in Discovery Bay, where we plan to remain for up to several more years.
I met a man just before high school graduation and we were married until 2001, when I finally got myself, and our two sons, out of that marriage. (Actually, I had divorced him 1995 and was in hiding for a few weeks, but gave him another chance, nullifying the divorce and renewing vows several months later, as it seemed he was on the road to overcoming his abusive behavior.) It has taken a few years and a whole lot of therapy for me and the boy...Expand for more
s, patience, and all the legal woes that go with it, but the boys now have a relationship with their father and see him regularly.
Just after graduation, I worked and went to college at Evergreen and then to San Jose State, where I graduated with Great Distinction with my B.A. in Liberal Studies, Minor in Spanish and second minor in Behavior. I obtained my Bilingual Teaching Credential in 1991 and began teaching in San Jose. In 1997, we moved to Discovery Bay where I continued teaching. At the end of 1999, I was Âdiscovered at a music store and began singing lead vocals with a wonderful group of musicians at benefits, wedding receptions, fundraisers and corporate parties with the Woodminster Band and began recording a CD. This continued until just after I had a baby in 2003 and the leader of the band, amazing guitarist Don Morrison, decided to retire from that business after performing for 35 years. I have many fun and interesting memories associated with this and feel very blessed to have had this experience. I have been singing at jam nights at a couple of local clubs off and on just to stay in touch with some musician friends and have fun, but am dedicating most of my time to my family now and trying to find time to write my songs at home.
