Charlene's Story
Life
It's hard to describe my life in a nutshell, but here it goes. In 1976 I moved to Price, Utah with my husband Bert and I started work at First Security Bank while attending school at night. In 1983 my daughter Amber was born. Work was successful as I progressed up through the ranks, but my marriage was not. After 13 years together, my husband took his own life while we were going through a divorce. After 20 years in Price, I transferred to St. George where the weather is TERRIFIC. My career has continue to progress as I am now 28 years with the same company, a vice president of Wells Fargo Bank and manager of a business banking center. My daughter is now 21 years old and is the center of my existence. We are best friends and enjoy traveling together. She attends a small private school in Oregon and will be studying for a semester in Paris in January 2005. I plan to join her for three weeks to travel throughout Europe. I have had several serious relationships, but I am still very single. My goals ...Expand for more
in life right now are to get healthy again, enjoy friends and family, not work too much and travel. I would love to rekindle old high school friendships.
Workplace
I worked at United Bank in Montrose just out of high school and then moved to Utah in 1976. I began working at First Security Bank in Price and have worked in a variety of positions over the years while the bank paid for my education. In 1996 I transferred to St. George with my daughter and First Security Bank was purchased by Wells Fargo Bank. I have now been with the company for 28 years, I am a vice president and I manage a business banking center where we do the larger commercial loans. I enjoy my staff and REALLY enjoy helping to make customer's dreams come true. I have one retirement earned with First Security and I'm working on a second one with Wells Fargo. My seven weeks annual vacation is allowing me time to travel and life is pretty good. I'm now completing a graduate program for bankers at the University of Washington in Seattle.
