Charlene's Story
Life
In HS I was in the orchestra, went to UTEP after graduation, graduated, got married when I was 23 and teaching school. Married John Brooks another Austin grad from 61. Had 3 sons, Bob, Bill and Ken. Quit teaching, worked in insurance for 5 years. Moved to Flagstaff Az., where we had our own office supply store for 13 years. I was also a claims director for a Health Maintenance company. I am currently a consultant (software specialist) for a healthcare firm and do a lot of traveling.
College
Started Utep in the summer of 63, after HS graduation. Became a Golddigger and joined Kappa Delta sorority. Had a ball in my first year, so much so, I didn't do too well. Father made me quit school for a year and go to work. Worked for a year, returned, to school and graduated with a BS in education and then went back later and got a masters in Counseling.
