Charles's Story

Charles - artbycharlieasher.com - is from San Leandro, California but currently lives in Folsom California and is married to Rhonda, 33 years. He worked for 30 years at AT&T and retired in February, 2001. After his retirement, Charles resumed his love of painting in oils and began painting again in earnest. His love of Northern California and passion for San Francisco and the Sierra mountains is a major contributor to his art. Charles' style is reminiscent of the impressionists; he strive...Expand for more
s to capture the scene quickly by focusing only on the essential. As a young man, Charles, through constant repetition copying Van Gogh drawings and paintings, honed his impressionist style. His definition of art is simple: Reality filtered through dreams. In his artwork you will see a dream-like quality instead of a photographic quality. Charles' favorite quote: A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world."
