Charles's Story
DREAMS do come true...A little story
of a Great part of my life with my best friend during a transitional time in our lives...
The LONG HAIR photo was taken while I was living in Las Vegas in the 1990's. A buddy of mine (Jim Krickiva) whom I had known since the late 1940's had moved to California with his family sometime in the 1980's. All our lives we had visited each other - always staying in touch where ever we moved. Our dream was to someday move to Las Vegas after our kids were all grown up and out on there own. However, there was always a glitch in our lives and it seemed that dream would never come to frution. How we made that dream come true was not as we planned... It came about by tragedy. His wife became Ill and eventually passed away... My wife and I had a falling out after all our children had grown up and moved out and we eventually divorced. It was after everything settled down that we realized there were no obligations and no obstacles to hold us back from our dream. d in a trailer park right in the heart of Las Vegas. It was perhaps one of the greatest times I've ever had in my life. It was a time of abandon to say the least. We lived on the edge. However, my girlfriend who moved with me when I went to Las Vegas became very depressed because she missed her family in Illinois and rather than letting her go back alone, I too decided to go back with her. My great friend understood and accepted my decision and we parted still the best of friends. He eventually sold the trailer and moved in with his daughter and son-in-law whom had also moved from California to Las Vegas. My girlfriend and I moved back to Lansing, Illinois and after a 12 year relationship we married in 2004. All in all everything worked out perfectly.
My buddy and I are still the best of friends and we both lived our dream out to the Max... It was a time that we'll never forget, nor regret. For over 30 years we had a dream... and we were blessed to have it come true. NEVER let your dreams go... They can come true... just as ours did....
