Charles's Story
Not a lot of people knew I had enlisted in the Marines in March 1968 during my senior year. I wanted to finish and graduate so I was in the 120 delay or the inactive reserves. After graduation, I left for boot camp in SanDiego. In January 1969 I received orders to be sent to Vietnam where I served in combat with A 1/9 3rd Marine Div (The Walking Dead). After being wounded I was sent home and was discharged.
I then went to work for the City of Dallas and retired after 25 years service.
After retiring moved to WV with my wife of 37 years,

ged my shop and went with a hand tool I started with Windsor chairs and moved to furniture. This led me to have a small business making Reproduction 18-19 Century furniture. I have been very lucky that I have sent my furniture from Maine down to Florida back to Texas and as far west as Oregon.
In my woodworking, I have got to meet some of the best people in traditional woodworking and in some cases have done craft shows with them. I have entered the Stae Fair Creative arts competition and the first year I won a 1st place Ribbon the second
I have added raising and maintaining of honey bees to my list of hobbies. It does offer a sweet reward.
