I worked as a project/product manager at The New York Times and TV Guide as well as several newspaper and printing equipment manufacturers. My mobile lifestyle led to homes in the Poconos, Long Island, Nevada's Black Rock desert, Queens, near the Canadian Border in NY, and Denver, CO. I retired in 2004 and un-retired six months later. I drive an auto parts delivery truck and stay as far away from management jobs as possible.
I married Nancy Merkelbach in 1964, even though Henry Kielblock's father told me not to. The elder Henry worked for The Courier-News. He said "We'll never get both your names in a two inch column. ...Expand for more
Nancy and I had two daughters; Leigh of Phoenix, AZ and Julie of Reno, NV. Nancy died in 1994.
I married Suzanne Bond in 1995. She has three daughters; Marcy in North Carolina, Laura in Nevada and RaeLynn in California. Due to the family hobby, Suzanne and I have twelve grandchildren.
Music is my drug of choice. Listening, not playing. I was in the band in high school, but only to get into football games without paying or getting my ass kicked. I listen to country, bluegrass, jazz, blues, classic rock and of course doo wop.
I still have the 1939 Ford coupe I had in high school. It's now 425 ci Buick powered and has an M-22 four speed and Gear Vendors overdrive. It's a 50/50 car (it looks good at 50 yards or 50 miles an hour).
