Charles's Story
Life
For those of you who MIGHT remember me,I was a pony-tailed hippie with a 1964 chevy hippie van and a white 1965 chevy impala thru Hi School. Now I'm a divorced,balding,pony-tailed hippie(must've been all those drugs in the 70's or too much chlorine in the pool water)with a 24 yr. old son named Cody who graduated from OSU and an 19 yr. old daughter named Sarah who is attending Otterbein University, seeking a degree in Equine Pre-vet/vet tech. I love to hike, backpack, sail, auto and motorcycle racing, and riding my scoot. I'm a full-time machinist for a living but I also teach line,two-step,and swing dancing as my own side business for the past 12 yrs. and still going.Although I haven't matured much(I'm still a toys R us kid) I can honestly say I try to get the most out of each day in my life, because if you don't it's just one more day you let slip away that you'll never be able to get back, so GO FOR IT Class of 75! "If ya can't be good,ya gotta be good at it!"
School
School was a special time for me back in the 70's. How I partied so hard and still had a 3.6 grade average for all 3 years I'll never know. Swimming class with Mr. Weller was always a trip. I still remember the day I bet the class 50 bucks I could hold my breath and CRAWL UNDER WATER from the deep end to the shallow end! He said I was nuts, but I did it! I had Mr. Fudge for Russian History; what a gas!One day he caught up with me at my locker and saw I had a better w...Expand for more
ine/liquor collection than he had!Fortunately for me he didn't turn me in and shared a glass of wine (actually a Dixie cup)with me. Good times, Good times!
Now it's 2015, my kids are grown, my son Cody is married to his high school sweetheart and I'm finally and grandpa!
He works at Progressive and his wife Samantha is a special needs school teacher. Lorelei is almost two, such a sweet little girl!
My daughter Sarah works at an animal hospital in North Carolina as a registered vet tech, living the dream!
Me? I shaved off the pony tail and went cue ball! Fortunately I'm old enough to know better but still to young to care!
Update: June 2017
I moved from Mentor to Jacksonville Florida September 2015 to take a job with the Navy as a Toolmaker/machinist.
It's my dream job supporting the Warfighter and our brothers and sisters in the Navy. 30 years a machinist in Cleveland, finishing my career in Florida; it doesn't get any better than this!
Except for having a triple Coronary Artery Bypass Graft April 2017 😩.
Went into the hospital with heart palpitations and after having a heart catheter procedure that found three blocked arteries had the surgery April 13, 2017.
Luckily I have no heart disease, my heart is healthy, no high blood pressure, not obese,
no liver/kidney disease,
all in all I'm healthy!
Got an extended 20 year lease on life, not gonna waste it!
Take care of yourselves class of '75, see your doctor and stay healthy!
