Just updated my photo taken in 2014 at Black Sheep Coffee in Bishop CA. A selfie (doh) after attending Youtopia Decompression in San Diego with my son Lucas and with over a week of camping under my belt with only 1 shower from Algodones to Whitney Portal. Dirty, needing a shave but oddly happy and satisfied. Attending Youtopia was a first for me but probably my last as well. I needed to do something that was totally out of character and Lisa, my wife of 41 years, and my son encouraged me to go. I had just been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, had left my job due to a work related injury and was trying to figure out if I would retire early or press on. Highlight of Youtopia was taking a group shower at Doc Bronner's camp in a clear plastic 40 ft truck trailer...buck naked! I did end up taking early retirement, shortly thereafter, on Social Security Disability. Promptly lost 30 pounds (am back to what I weighed in HS) and...Expand for more
