Charles's Story
After graduating from HHS in '64, I attended MU where I received my BS in Physics and Math in '68.
I went to work for NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL in June '68 where I worked on the Space Lab project.
Started graduate school in the Department of Astronomy at the Univ of Texas (Austin, TX) in Sept '68.
Drafted Oct '68.
Married Dec '68.
I arrived in Vietnam, in Mar '69 and was assigned to the 25th Infantry Div (Charlie Co / 3 / 22) as an M60 machine gunner with infantry operations in Tay Ninh Province near the Cambodian border.
Survived.
Returned to graduate school at the Univ of Texas in Sept '70. Spent two years working on PH.D. in Astrophysics but decided to work for a living instead.
Started my career in computer software in August '72.

Started my first company, August '78.
Visited Australia in Nov '83 -- great place.
Started my second company, Jan '85.
Visited Europe in May '85. Been there; done that.
Took private pilot training at a flight school in Minden, NV in Sept '85 and I now have 1000+ hours in high performance sailplanes.
Visited Australia (again) in Feb '86 -- still a great place.
I started my third (and, hopefully, final) company in July 2001.
I had open heart surgery in May 2007. Survived.
I'm currently single and living in Austin. Looking forward to retirement as soon as possible. My primary hobby is still amateur astronomy. I also enjoy camping in the mountains of west Texas.
Have life long hatred of mosquitoes.
