Charles's Story
Life
Graduated from North Forsyth in 1968. Next was four years in the USAF, starting of course at Lackland AFB, then up to Chanute AFB. From there I was stationed in Charleston AFB where I worked on the flight line on the C-141 and C-5. When I returned home to Winston-Salem, I was hired by IBM and worked for them for 16 years before my division was sold to Kodak. After 10 years with Kodak my division was closed. I had been in the reserve for the local sheriff's office so I went full time after deciding not to move. I started as a school resource officer for two years then transfered to the civil division. st like most of us at this age, I am looking forward to retirement. Now is the stock market will cooperate......
I made it. I am retireing Novembrer 30th. There are many things I plan to do, probably will be busier than ever. Looking forward to it.
Lost my wife to cancer after a 3 year battle. We were married two weeks shy of our 35 anniversary. Tough times right now.
Time moves on, I am so fortunate to have reconnected with a lady I first meet in 1972. We meet again on classmates. That was 2 years ago. We have started or renewed our relationship and are really happy together. Although she lives in Wisconsin, we are making it work. Summer in Wi., winter in NC. Life is good, just gotta have faith
