Charles's Story
Life
19 years is difficult to summarize...after high school went to same college along with Peter Haven, Suzanne Doi, and Kirk Allison. Fun four years for all of us, I'm sure. Suzanne kept the "Fallbrook crew" together with frequent dinner events during the year. Started my first job with 6 months of training in Chicago and ultimately basing in Seattle, WA. Great place for outdoor activities - diving, kayaking, skiiing, etc. and a true "Emerald City". Great beer before microbreweries were popular. I was in Seattle working on Microsoft when they were just a "wee child"...Eventually moved back to the Bay Area (San Francisco) in 1990 to work on Apple Computer. In 1993 decided to make my first job change and joined Intuit (Quicken, QuickBooks, and TurboTax) as a Product Manager. After 4 years in Marketing in our Mountain View office I was transferred to Paris, France to a really great assignment for 2 years. Came back to a new job at Intuit working in business development projects and licensing of technology or intellectual content. n 2000 (I took my time and am really happy I did!), the work experience in Paris, watching the rise and fall of the internet without getting too badly burned (everyone got burned a little, right?), working for only 2 great companies in 15 years, recently watching a Warriors CIF Championship Football game my dad taped (who would have ever thought...fish rivalries never die, nor do they ever fade away), the 10 year reunion (if you missed it, come to the 20th - it really is incredible catching up with who you grew up with)...hope to see everyone at the 20th. The last exciting note is Michelle (my wife) and I are taking a year off starting in August 2001 to travel through Alaska, SouthEast Asia, India and the Middle East. We'll return July 2002. I hope the 20th reunion isn't somewhere prior to that. Look forward to seeing everyone who can make it and I hope it is when I can make it!
Update(2007): Left Intuit in June 2006 and currently 'retired'. Will do something else in a year or two. Rebuilding our home due to a house fire in 2005. And, we have a baby boy due in Jan 2008 (our first!).
