My Spouse
I met my husband Charles (nicknamed Skip) in 1989 in a grief group after Dan's sudden passing.
We have two spoiled pets who are an important part of our lives. An Irish-Golden Retriever named Casey Sean & our Calico Cat Nikki. Summers are spent at our home in Souderton now that we sold our summer home in New Jersey & we spend the winter months after Christmas with our Snowbird family in Four Corners, Florida area not too far from the Disney Animal Kingdom. Fifteem years ago we moved into a new home in Harrington Village a fantastic 55+ adult community in Souderton, PA.
My Children:
I am the mother of one son who is a United Methodist Minister. Dan & wife Judy serving his 20th year at Summerfield/Siloam UMC church in Philadelphia & doing inner-city ministry work. I'm also a step-mother to one son & two daughters; grandmother of nine & great-grandmother to eight including our newest great grandson Hudson A. Bradley son of Cindy & Michael. The family continues to grow since three of our grand-daughters graduated from college & Kate marrried Sam Bergey in October 2020 in a beautiful small Covid wedding & reception at their home in Chalfont. Our oldest great-granddaughter Caitlyn graduated from Juanita College in May 2020 & has her own successful business. Our grandaughter Alexis & great grandson Nathan both turned 17, are driving & playing sports at their respeective schools & looking at colleges & universities to continue their educations.. other's 5h great grandchild ( a girl named Willow) & Evie continues to live in Newport News near her two son's & Donnie's family. Covid kept us from traveling last year but we were quite busy after Skip was diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer & underwent two skull surgeries at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.The staff at Fox Chase & our Dermatology group are outstanding & performed many skin cancer surgeries on both of us. .To top it off my left hip gave out & I had complete replacement of my hip in May & learned to walk again. . The Grand View home health care team helped us through all the surgeries.
Fall of 21 brought the celebration of my 65th high school class & a trip to Florida from mid- October to December. Despite continued challenges in our lives we are blessed with many special family and extended family activities & memories..
We are active with church activities at home & while away. I am a 64 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star & both Skip and I are active in Priscilla Chapter #64 meeting in Norristown, PA. Skip has 29 years in Eastern Star & is a 54 year of member in the Masons. Even though he no longer rides in the Tour de Shore 65 mile bike ride from the Irish Pub in Philadelphia to the Irish Pub in Atlantic City with the Wheels of Justice of Montgomery County he is still riding despite his extensive left knee surgery in November 2016. even though he is now riding using electric assist bikes.. We look forward each fall to attending the 50 plus club luncheon of Abington High School, Abington, PA where Skip graduated Class of 1952.
