Life After Mervo I worked for awhile,then enlisted in the Navy. Served aboard the USS HORNET,CVS-12, "M" Division/ Aft.Eng.Rm. out of Long Beach ,Calif. from March 1966 to January 1970.Had the privilage to pick up the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 Moon Mission crews,and two tours of duty off Viet Nam. Married in May 1969,have two sons. Both are married and each have two sons. Played music in many local bands,then put one together with my wife,Linda who sang and played some keyboards for ten years.It was a great time. Joined the Baltimore County Fire Dept. in July 1977,promoted from FireFighter to Paramedic to EMS Lieutenant during my time there, and retired on January 1st,2004. Living comfortably,enjoying life and my four Grandsons. Still love music, can't do without it! It's been almost three years since I retired, and love it. My oldest son Buddy III plays drums for the classic rock band called "PIZAZZ", they mostly play in the Pasadena, Md. area night clubs and some other venues. I have a good time with them when they are on stage. Most recently, I sustained my first broken bone. On Sept. 21st, while watching batting practice at Oriole Park, I was attempting to catch a ball, slipped and fell breaking my left wrist. I caught the ball, but let it go when I felt the pain in my wrist. I knew it was broken, have seen many of them as serving as a Paramedic, with the Balto. Co. Fire Dept. Some other guy picked the ball up, and when I said "I just broke my wrist", he said, " sure, right " and walked away with the ball! I had surgery on Sept. 27th and now h...Expand for more
