Charles's Story

Since graduation I attended CSUN ( I mean SFVSC) , graduating in 1968. Thought I would go into teaching but the Los Angeles County Probation Department was desparate for bodies so I signed-up.The county only gave me a score of 70 which was barely passing, but I needed a better job. At the time I was working for the Post Office but wanted a job working with troubled kids. After 37 years of working as a Probation Officer ,I retired with a good county pension and plan on riping off the county as long as I can. I married my beautiful wife Esther in 1971 and were still together, isn't God amazing. We had two boys, Luke age 38 and a LAPD officer. My youngest son Justin passed away in 1996 from a car accident. The saddest day of my life. He was a great kid and attending CSUN at the time. I have had three homes in my life, the first in Sylmar, then Northridge and currently reside in Valencia,CA. Probably my last until convelesant care, not looking forward to that. While going to high school I was part of the gymnastic team and managed to letter. At CSUN I was part of their team and in my final year our team won the small college nationals in Springfield, Mass, that was "COOL". If your reading this I hope Im not too boring. I signed-up for this web site because I have become somewhat nostalgic in my old age and found this web site by accident. Really I only wanted to see what became of all of you. For me high school was alot of fun and I have very fond memories. I pray everyone is doing well and in good health. I have a couple of class...Expand for more
ic cars ( two 1967 Mustang fastbacks, two Austin Healy bugeye sprites and Iam building from scratch a replica of a 1938 BMW 328) , as you can tell I love old classic cars. One of the Mustangs is a clone of the car driven in "Gone in 60 Seconds", the last one stolen,ELEANOR. In the late 80's I helped start a Christian ministry and have reminded very involved unto this day. It has been both a lot of hard work and alot of my time, but very rewarding. Since I will be 67 years of age in October I feel I have a few good years left. The people in our congregation seem to love and appreciate me as well. I hope to have some pictures soon of me and my granchildren , Justin age 6 and Giselle age 2. They are very precious to me and I Iove them dearly. Often I get to do the grandparent thing and it has proven to be a real blessing. Two days a week they belong to Esther and me. As a child I never know my grandparents and it is a joy to be a major part of their young life. I have been rambling now for a while and it has been close to 50 years since I have seen any of you, so please forgive me if I have to reference your name with a picture in our annual .I doubt you will recognize me from my photo for father time has not always been kind to me. However my health is fairly good as I try to eat better and the treatmill and universal gym have become my close friend. God bless and be of good cheer. By the way I hate computers , but I guess it is a necessary evil. I want to thank everyone that has thus far befriended me but Im terrible with e-mail.
