Charles's Story
Life
I started college at what was then Georgia College in Milledgeville about a week after we graduated and spent five years there learning more about life and the world outside the classroom than in. Applied that acquired knowledge and went to work for the Disney Company in Orlando as a live entertainment technician in 1981 and rode that horse until 1998 when I become, kicking and screaming in protest, an entertainment manager. Left Disney in 2003 to find out if all I had learned on the job would be applicable in the real world. It is. I didn't like the real world so I became the technical director for First United Methodist Church in Orlando and after two decades of being an Interstate 4 hostage I am living my dreams by riding my bicycle to work in 5 minutes. ently 21 and 19 (in 2009) both students at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. After spending their entire lives in Florida they have both adapted to real winters and seem to do very well academically. They get that from their mom. From me they inherited an appreciation for bad puns and humorous body noises. I do still hack at the tuba and play in a couple of church ensembles in the Orlando area, and subscribe to the theory that "if you can't be good, at least be loud." My parents are sort of retired in Greensboro, so I do get up that way a few times a year, with the occasional foray over to Covington to drop in on Ramsey's Furniture.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it to the reunion and I appreciate Kenneth's footwork in pulling it all together.
