Chase's Story
Life
The Way it Breaks is the long time vision of lead singer Chase Jentz. No stranger to the music business, Chase has performed in major venues from the Alamo Dome to the Whiskey A Go-Go in Hollywood, CA. His music has not only received a lot of exposure on the Texas airwaves, but is currently being featured on MTV's "Meet the Barkers" and VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club."
In the summer of 2003, Chase re-located to Los Angeles where he spent two years writing, recording, and performing with an LA-based rock band fronted by multiple lead singers.
Ultimately, he realized the group wasnÂt fulfilling the dream heÂd originally set out to pursue and left the band in 2005. "For the first time in my music career, I had a clean slate
and the sky was the limit," says Chase.
Determined to create the rock band heÂd always wanted, he returned to Texas with three musicians already in mind. He quickly recruited Devin Elder, a young up and coming guitar player/singer making quite a name for himself on the Texas scene. "When Chase first called me with the idea of forming this band, I loved ...Expand for more
it immediately...when I heard the songs he had been working on, there was no question in my mind," says Devin. Chase also had his sights set on well-known Texas musicians, Eric Raines (drums) and Curt Beaird (Bass). They immediately came on board and a new band was born, The Way it Breaks.
The name, The Way it Breaks, represents the struggles, heartaches, and sacrifices one encounters battling to live out their dream. The groupÂs individualistic style has turned the heads of music industry insiders and fans alike. Their hook-laden songs talk about love, life, hardships and dreams, while their live energetic performances leave their audiences wanting more. ChaseÂs unique voice and sensitive spirit undulates throughout his music and the bandÂs heart-pounding rhythms and sweet vocal harmonies make them stand apart from the rest. Their integrative, prismatic sound is one you donÂt want to miss!
"The Way It Breaks is one of the hottest up and coming bands that I have heard. Expect their music to flood the airwaves!" -Mark Mays, President/CEO, Clear Channel Communications.
