Cherie's Story
By 1989, when I attended the 20th high school reunion, I had earned a doctorate in mass communications and was on my way to participate in a two-year Fulbright Program as a university professor in Taiwan. I enjoyed living in Asia from 1989 to 1991 and had a chance to visit South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and China. the federal government for 16 years. I did not attend the 30th reunion on May 30, 1999, because I gave birth to my daughter that day. When the 50th reunion occurs, my daughter will be 20 years old. She is now studying at the University of Oregon, majoring in art and minoring in computer science. I am now working as an arbitrator in the financial services sector, which I find very interesting.
