Cherish's Story
Life
Life has been pretty good to me so far! I've done a lot of traveling, & have managed to accomplish many of the things I've dreamed of doing. Life has FLOWN by since graduation, but I've packed in as much as I possibly could. I recently returned from my third trip to Africa, which was probably my best trip yet! I've found such a love for that country & its people! I have found such joy in the humanitary work that takes me there, & look forward to several more trips in the future. I ended up leaving my beloved East Coast, & am now in Arizona. I NEVER thought I would ever live in Arizona, but I am enjoying it more than I thought I would. I LOVE my job, even though I never thought this is what I would be doing. I work in the waterworks industry, for a supply company, selling water & sewer pipes & fittings. (it's not like Home Depot, or pretty much any thing you imagine a supply company to be.) I work directly with contractors specializing in water & sewer treatment plants. Basically contractors send me lists of material they are going to need in order to build water or sewer treatment plants (pipes, fittings, valves), I price it out, then if we are awarde...Expand for more
d the job, I purchase the material for them & arrange to get it to their job site. So I'm pretty much in the middle of the manufacturers & the contractors...easiest type of sales job you could ask for! Again, NEVER saw myself this, but it is a great job that brings me a good mix of joy, challenges & frustration...who could ask for more? I don't see myself doing this forever, but it has oppened up many doors, & provided me many opportunities. Life has thrown me a lot of curve balls over the past 9 years, but I've rolled with them & it's turned out quite well. I am always looking for new adventures & ways to shake my life up. After graduation I decided to stop waiting around for other people to join me in adventures, & it was the best thing I could have done! It's amazing how many opportunities present themselves, when you open yourself up to them. That's pretty much it, in a nutshell. While most things about my life aren't the way I imagined they would be, I have to say that overall, I'm happy with how it's turned out. Life experiences change you, hopefully for the better, & you never know where you may end up. I say you should dream it, then make it happen!
